Roland’s success today as an accomplished lawyer and successful community leader is evidence of his strong work ethic of the past. Having worked his way through college, while graduating cum laude from Baylor University with honors, and then having worked his way through law school, at night while serving on the Law Review, Roland possesses the skills of discipline and organization. Upon graduation from South Texas College of Law, Roland began his career as a Briefing Attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas, followed by a trial practice at Vinson & Elkins LLP. Today, he is an accomplished trial lawyer for Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP. He practices in the areas of civil litigation, including class actions, tort law, business litigation and appellate law. He has tried cases and argued appeals in state and federal courts. Roland has been quoted on many of his high profile cases by such media as the National Law Journal, the Houston Chronicle, AP News Wire, The Dallas Morning News, Austin-American Statesman, the Corpus Christi Caller Times and the Texas Lawyer Magazine.
